§ Mr. Wallaceasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has considered the evidence obtained by the fishing vessel mv Aquila regarding the effect of the increased pout by-catch on white fish stocks in the North sea.
§ Mr. MacGregorI am considering carefully the information provided by the Scottish Fishermen's Federation concerning the catches taken during the experimental voyage of the Aquila together with the information obtained from monitoring the commercial fishery for Norway pout. My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State, Scottish Office and I propose to meet the industry shortly to discuss these findings.
