HC Deb 18 April 1985 vol 77 c266W
Mr. Robert Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many pensioners have still to receive their 1984 Christmas bonus arising from the delays caused by the strike at his Department's offices in Newcastle.

Mr. Whitney

The 1984 Christmas bonus exercise was completed satisfactorily and broadly on time. I understand that one of my hon. Friend's constituents failed to receive the bonus because she had moved house and the payment was sent to her old address. When the local office was notified of the mistake the payment was retrieved and passed on to the constituent. If my hon. Friend is aware of any other problems in connection with the 1984 Christmas bonus perhaps he would let me have details.
