asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will be bringing forward his plans for salmon tagging.

as I indicated when replying to a question on this subject from my hon. Friend on 15 February there are a number of difficulties associated with the introduction of a tagging scheme, which we are still considering. We are not yet in a position to announce our conclusions on this proposal.
