§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what total level of resources he will be providing to finance resettlement schemes in the voluntary sector following the closure of his Department's reestablishment centres.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe re-establishment centres administered by this Department cost an estimated £2.0 million to run in 1983–84 and following the closure of the centres this sum will be provided to fund alternative resettlement arrangements. As most re-establishment centres and resettlement units share common sites and services the total running costs of re-establishment centres will not be saved immediately upon their closure.
