HC Deb 17 April 1985 vol 77 c174W
Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the current value of plant used to develop the new airport in the Falkland Islands; what is to become of it once the job is completed; and if he will make a statement.

Sir George Young

Plant to a purchase value of some £34 million is being used in the construction of the Royal Air Force and Army works projects at Mount Pleasant airport. This plant is supplied, managed and maintained by the contractors, who are also responsible for its removal when the contracts are completed.
