§ Mr. Chris PattenThe Northern Ireland Department of the Environment's off-street car parks are listed in part I of the schedule to the Off-Street Parking Bye-laws (Northern Ireland) 1983 (SRNI 1983 No. 240) as amended to date. Of these, 30 in the Belfast area are operated by contractors.
The Department is currently considering the case for contracting out to the private sector the operation of a number of car parks which are subject to charge in the main provincial towns in Northern Ireland.
