§ Mr. Michael SpicerNew regulations requiring baggage to be properly secured are set out in articles 2(3) and 2(10) of the Air Navigation (Fourth Amendment) Order 1985. The regulations apply to aircraft registered in the United Kingdom carrying passengers on public transport and come into operation on 26 April 1985. In the case of aircraft capable of seating more than 30 passengers, baggage must be stowed in passenger compartment stowage spaces approved by the Civil Aviation Authority. These can include under seat stowage spaces where forward restraint bars are fitted to seats.
