§ Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the total acreage of forestry land sold by the Forestry Commission in Wales over the last 12 months; and if he will estimate the value of these estates and represent the total acreage sold as a percentage of Welsh Forestry Commission land.
§ Mr. John Stradling Thomas[pursuant to his reply, 4 April, 1985, c. 702.]: Sales of forest land in Wales by the Forestry Commission in the 12 months to 21 March 1985—the latest date for which figures are available—amounted to 1,900 hectares for a total sale price of £2.4 million. This area represented 1.3 per cent. of the Forestry Commission's forest land holdings in Wales taken at the start of the programme of sales in 1981.
