§ Mr. Nichollsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what machinery is available for checking on commitments to future action made by applicants at public inquiries, after planning permission has been granted and development taken place.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneThe enforcement of any planning obligations is a matter for the local planning authority; in the case of a condition imposed on a planning permission by means of the procedures set out in part V of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971, and in the case of an agreement under section 52 of that Act by application to the courts. I am satisfied that these powers are adequate. If my hon. Friend is concerned about a particular case I would be glad to look into it if he would care to write to me.
