§ Mr. Robert Hughesasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland what representations he has had on the implementation of the Law Commission and Scottish Law Commission report, "Family Law — Custody of Children, Jurisdiction and Enforcement within the United Kingdom" (Cmnd. 9419).
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandI have received representations on several occasions from the hon. Gentleman himself, as have my noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate and my right hon. Friend, the Lord Privy Seal. My noble and learned Friend has also received representations in another place from the noble and learned Lord, Lord Elwyn-Jones.
The representations are for early implementation of the recommendations contained in the commission's report. My noble and learned Friend and I have already explained that we see no prospect of implementation in this Parliamentary Session.
