§ Mr. John PattenFollowing the report's publication in 1981 the Government-funded Health Education Council set up a training consultative group to keep under review the provision for education and training of health education officers. The council subsequently established links with the NHS training authority, to which the staff committees are now accountable. A review day is planned for 1 May, at which the Department will be represented, to update the Kirby report and consider future possibilities.
