§ Mr. Patrick JenkinMany people expressed astonishment and disbelief when a few carefully selected bits of the report were circulated before its publication. The full report, which is based on figures only up to 1981, did not examine the impact of rates in the most extreme cases. In such cases, rate increases may be the last straw that leads to closures and redundancies.
§ 38. Mr. Nicholas Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the bodies to whom he has sent copies of the Cambridge report on "The Effect of Business Rates on the Location of Employment" for their comments.
