§ Mr. Gordon Brownasked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) whether any British defence manufacturer has been granted permission to export gun systems to the Honduras Government;
(2) whether any British company was involved in any military contracts with the Honduras Government in 1984; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ButlerIt has been the consistent policy of this and previous Administrations not to disclose details of defence sales business with other countries. However, it has always been, and will remain the Government's policy to 587W exercise strict control over the sale of arms and all such business is considered carefully on its merits on a case by case basis.
