HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 cc1063-4W
Mr. Pike

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he proposes, in the next parliamentary Session, to introduce financial measures to encourage the reduction of unemployment and economic revival.

Mr. Moore

The Government's objective is to carry further the process of tax reforms and reductions which my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer began this year. This, together with continued adherence to the medium term financial strategy, offers the best possible basis for a continuing economic revival, creating the conditions in which a lasting fall in unemployment will be possible.
