Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he is going to publish the report drawn up for the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys which refers to death rates among the unemployed.

Mr. John Patten

The report in question was prepared by a research team based at the City university, as part of a programme of research financed by the Medical Research Council to analyse data from the longitudinal study compiled by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys. I understand that the paper is being submitted for publication in a medical journal.
