HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 c1048W
Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much the Nature Conservancy Council allocated from its grant-in-aid in 1984–85 to support the purchase of sites of special scientific interest by voluntary conservation bodies; how much of this has been spent or committed; and whether additions to this budget head need to be made.

Mr. Gow

The Nature Conservancy Council has allocated £420,000 for site purchase by the voluntary conservation bodies in 1984–85, of which £320,000 has been spent or committed. We are considering the NCC's longer term resource requirements in the context of its corporate plan.
