HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 c970W
Mr. Stott

asked the Prime Minister if she has any intention of establishing a small executive group within her Government with the authority and means to review and advise on all respects of public procurement in information technology.

The Prime Minister

No. I am not satisfied that such a body is necessary. The Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency, part of Her Majesty's Treasury, provides technical advice and procurement support to Government Departments. The Department of Trade and Industry pays particular attention to the information technology sector in the Government's public purchasing initiative.
