Mr. Terlezki

asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much money the EEC wine surplus cost the United Kingdom in the last year; and how much it is likely to cost in the current year.

Mr. MacGregor

The United Kingdom's contribution to Community expenditure on measures to dispose of surplus table wine was £60 million in 1983 and is expected to rise to around £140 million in 1984.
