§ Mr. Evennettasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he intends to introduce legislation to end the exemption of ecclesiastical buildings from the provisions of the Town and County Planning Act 1971 which relate to buildings of special architectural or historic interest.
§ Sir George YoungMy Department circulated a consultation paper on this subject to all interested parties in January this year. My right hon. Friend will make a statement as soon as we have completed our study of the 130 responses to that paper.
