HC Deb 30 October 1984 vol 65 c946W
Sir Dudley Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether his Department has now completed its survey of the condition of National Health Service buildings; and whether he intends to publish the results of that survey.

Mr. John Patten

The survey of the condition of National Health Service buildings as recommended in the Davies' report into underused and surplus property in the NHS is being undertaken by the NHS. It is a continuous process and the initial survey work has reached various stages of completion. In general the work is 80 per cent. complete and it is now assessed that it will be completed early next year.

No decision has yet been made on whether or in what form to publish the work on the condition surveys, but early analysis confirms that figures already published in the report are a reasonably accurate reflection of the situation.
