HC Deb 29 October 1984 vol 65 c806W
Sir Dudley Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether his Department holds any records of the school buildings which have been taken out of service as a result of falling rolls and of the alternative uses to which they have been put.

Mr. Dunn

The Department only has records of statutory proposals published by local education authorities for the closure, amalgamation and reorganisation of schools. The management of the stock of school buildings including decisions about the alternative use or disposal of surplus school premises is the responsibility of individual local education authorities.
