HC Deb 29 October 1984 vol 65 c797W
Mr. Nicholson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many applications were received for the milk outgoers scheme; what percentage of quota has been offered for sale by producers; and how many firm offers have been made to producers to purchase quota.

Dr. Boyson

As at 28 August 1984, the closing date for receipt of applications under the Milk Supplementary Levy (Outgoers) Scheme, 550 valid offers to surrender milk quotas totalling some 50 million litres had been received. This represents about 3.8 per cent. of the Northern Ireland regional quota.

All producers who submitted a valid application have received notification of acceptance under the Scheme and have been invited to proceed as outgoers.

To date 11 million litres have been firmly offered by 159 producers.
