§ Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent Lomé convention renewal talks in Brussels.
§ Mr. RaisonAt the fifth Ministerial negotiating conference in Brussels from 9 to 13 October, substantial progress was made on most issues. The Community announced its financial envelope for Lomé III. Agreement remains to be reached on a limited number of points. The 805W European Community and the African, Caribbean and Pacific co-Presidents are meeting again in early November. Both sides hope that the new convention can be signed in Lomé in early December.
