asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of persons employed in the United Kingdom knitwear manufacturing industry in each of the last five available years.

The following table gives, for Great Britain, the estimated numbers of employees in employment in the hosiery and other knitted goods industry (Minimum List Heading 417 of the 1968 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC), or group 436 of the 1980 SIC) for the dates specified. Estimates for the United Kingdom are not available for these dates.
