Dr. RogerThomas asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will act on the recommendation of the Select Committee on Science and Technology of the House of Lords in its report of 21 December 1983 on Occupational Health and Hygiene Services to correct the understaffing of the medical division of the Health and Safety Executive to improve the latest provision of advice.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyI have been asked to reply.
Detailed decisions on the allocation of its staff to particular blocks of work are a matter for the Health and Safety Executive. Staffing is kept under constant review and resources are redirected when necessary to areas of high priority.
