HC Deb 29 October 1984 vol 65 c828W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he is taking in Scotland in relation to the publication of the report of the medical working group on drug dependence.

Mr. Younger

Copies of the report, which has been published today and contains guidance to all doctors about the principles of diagnosing and treating drug misuse, will be sent by the chief medical officer of the Scottish Home and Health Department to all general medical practitioners and hospital doctors in Scotland and to health boards and interested professional organisations.

The guidance in the report should help doctors to develop a constructive response to drug misuse and forms a further component of the Government's strategy in the fight against this serious problem.
