§ Mr. Nellistasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the number of movements and the number of vehicles involved in the movement of coal, and the aggregate tonnage moved, under the authority of his Department in the last 12 months.
§ Mr. ButlerNo vehicles have been used for the movement of coal other than to meet normal MOD requirements. Neither aggregate figures for the amount of coal supplied to Ministry of Defence establishments nor for the number of movements required to effect this supply are held centrally and they could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
