HC Deb 26 October 1984 vol 65 c749W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he proposes to implement section 66 of the Medicines Act 1968; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

Section 66 enables detailed requirements to be imposed by regulation with respect to a wide range of matters, such as the handling, storage and safe keeping of medicines and the standards of construction, equipment and hygiene at premises where medicines are handled. Some specific requirements about storage and record-keeping have already been imposed by regulation under section 66, and others are currently under consideration.
