asked the Attorney-General how many staff are employed in county court offices in England and Wales; and how many were so employed on 1 January 1981, 1982 and 1983 respectively.

asked the Attorney-General which county court offices have been the subject of staffing reviews during the years 1982, 1983 and 1984, respectively; and if he will list by county courts the staffing changes which (a) were recommended and (b) ensued.

Staffing reviews of all county court offices, currently 292 in number, are carried out at six-monthly intervals. The information requested regarding the changes which have been recommended and impletnented during the years 1982, 1983 and 1984 could be provided only at disproportionate expense.
