HC Deb 24 October 1984 vol 65 c595W
Mr. Wareing

asked the Prime Minister why hon. Members representing Liverpool constituencies were not notified of her intention to visit Liverpool on Tuesday 2 October; and if she will make a statement on her visit.

The Prime Minister

I regret that the hon. Members concerned were not given the usual advance notice of my visit but this was necessary in the interests of security and of avoiding unnecessary burdens on the local police.

As to a statement on my visit, I refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply I gave on Tuesday 23 October to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Riverside (Mr. Parry).
