asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the percentage change in the exchange rate for the £ sterling since June 1983 against: (i) the United States dollar, (ii) the basket of currencies, (iii) the German mark, (iv) the Japanese yen, (v) the Swiss franc and (vi) the French franc.
