Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what proportion of Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Schools was educated at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge;

(2) what proportion of Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Schools was educated at private or direct grant schools, rather than in the maintained sector;

(3) what proportion of Her Majesty's Inspectorate has taught in the private sector of education;

(4) how many present members of Her Majesty's Inspectorate were appointed to it at a time when they were not directly employed as teachers in schools or further education colleges in the maintained sector.
