HC Deb 24 October 1984 vol 65 c630W
Mr. Frank Field

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether any of the grain supplies stored in the north-west will be drawn upon as part of the Government's relief programme for the famine in Ethiopia.

Mr. Raison

I have been asked to reply.

I cannot guarantee to buy grain for relief from any particular source. Our policy is to buy the most readily available cereals which are most suitable for the recipients at the lowest possible price.
