§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he overturned the unanimous decision of the borough of Brent to refuse planning permission for proposed amusement centres and a gaming licence for premises in Wembley high road.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneThis planning appeal was determined not by my right hon. Friend, but by an inspector appointed by him. In allowing the appeal the inspector granted conditional planning permission only. Full reasons for his decision are set out in his letter dated 29 June 1984. I am arranging for a copy of this letter to be sent to the hon. Member.
Application for a gaming licence is subject to the Gaming Act 1968 and would be a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary.
