HC Deb 23 October 1984 vol 65 c539W
Mr. Parry

asked the Prime Minister if she will make a statement on her recent visit to Liverpool.

The Prime Minister

I visited Merseyside on 2 October 1984 along with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment. During the morning I saw some of the problems and potential which exist in housing areas in the inner city. I saw at first hand some of the poor housing conditions and some of the positive responses to these conditions involving cooperation between the public and the private sectors. I subsequently opened a "meet the buyers" Technomart exhibition at Wavertree technology park. In the afternoon I met members of the Merseyside county council and Liverpool city council before leaving to view the International Garden Festival and the Albert dock developments.
