HC Deb 23 October 1984 vol 65 c559W
18. Mr. Tony Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is satisfied with the level and quality of health service provision in Greater Manchester.

Mr. John Patten

North Western region has consistently received above average growth under this administration. The regional health authority has made great strides to translate this into real patient benefits, not just for people in Greater Manchester but for the whole north-west. The next few months will see publication of new plans to continue this development, particularly in north-western districts which have historically been relatively deprived.
