HC Deb 22 October 1984 vol 65 cc495-6W
Sir Patrick Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Defence when it is proposed to fit the three Invincible class carriers with surface-to-air missiles.

Mr. Lee

The Invincible class ASW carriers are already fitted with the Sea Dart medium-range surface-to-air missile system. A number of options are being considered for the improvement of their air defence capability, including a possible fit of a Seawolf point defence missile system, but no decisions have yet been taken.
