asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report the figures for the number of deaths due to food poisoning for each of the last five years.

The numbers of deaths assigned to food poisoning^*, as the underlying cause of death, in England and Wales for the latest available five years, are as follows:
