HC Deb 22 October 1984 vol 65 c464W
Mr. Fisher

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to his reply, Official Report, column 17, whether he will publish such information as is available centrally to him on each extra-statutory concession granted by (a) the Inland Revenue and (b) Her Majesty's Customs and Excise whose cost to the Treasury is likely to be less than £100,000 in any financial year.

Mr. Moore

My previous answer attempted to estimate the likely revenue cost of these concessions, for the most part, on the basis of very broad estimates of the number of cases involved and the average amount of revenue per case. Little statistical information is available on the individual concessions referred to; and it would be disproportionately expensive to obtain it.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish details of the three extra-statutory concessions referred to in the reply to the hon. Member for Birmingham, Perry Barr, Official Report, 25 April, column 543.

Mr. Moore

I shall let the hon. Member have a reply as soon as possible.
