HC Deb 22 October 1984 vol 65 cc467-8W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Prime Minister if she has received any representations regarding the total cost to the Central Electricity Generating Board of the miners' strike; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

I am aware that concern has been expressed about the additional costs incurred by the Central Electricity Generating Board as a result of the miners' strike. It will not be possible to assess the total cost of the strike to the generating board until it is known when and how it will end. No decision has been taken as to how these extra costs should be paid for.
