asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list the countries which are now exporting coal to the United Kingdom; what tonnages are now being imported; and what new contracts have been made during the last six months.

Countries which are now exporting coal to the United Kingdom and the tonnages imported in the period January to August 1984 are as follows:

Details of coal import contracts have not been collected by the Government since coal imports were put on open general licence in 1970.
