HC Deb 28 November 1984 vol 68 c499W
Mr. Murphy

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received regarding Government support for the World bank's sub-Saharan Africa programme.

Mr. Raison

I have received representations from Members of Parliament and members of the public. Contrary to the impression they may have received, the recent World Bank report on sub-Saharan Africa contained no specific proposals for a US․2 billion World Bank special fund. Her Majesty's Government will look carefully at any proposals by the World Bank on what action should be taken on the report.
