HC Deb 28 November 1984 vol 68 c494W
Mr. Willie W. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received in the last three months from the legal profession concerning his proposals to increase competition among lawyers.

Mr. Ancram

I am in close touch with the Law Society of Scotland whose representatives I met recently to discuss conveyancing by employed solicitors, fee quotation and advertising. My right hon. Friend has also received a number of representations on these matters from individual solicitors or firms.
