HC Deb 28 November 1984 vol 68 c514W
77. Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on future central Government spending plans to meet the social needs of the people of Islington.

Mr. Waldegrave

The Islington inner city partnership has an allocation from my Department of £10.4 million in 1984–85, supported by 75 per cent. urban progamme grant. This is in addition to Islington council's current entitlement to £6.493 million block grant for 1984–85. If the council had met its expenditure target it would have received £24.011 million block grant this year. I am not yet in a position to announce urban programme allocations, or the rate support grant settlement, for 1985–86.
