asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement of Government policy regarding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the light of the recent United Nations talks.

We continue to recognise only one Cypriot state: the Republic of Cyprus under the Government of President Kyprianou.
