Mr. Jacksonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the total number of individuals who (a) pay income tax, (b) have a taxable income after allowances of £1,000 or less and (c) have a taxable income of more than £1,000 but less than £3,000.
Mr. Jacksonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will tabulate in the Official Report his Department's contemporary estimates of the numbers of (a) taxpayers at the time of the Budgets of the years 1979 to 1984 inclusive and (b) persons taken out of the income tax system as a result of the changes made in those Budgets.
