HC Deb 27 November 1984 vol 68 c470W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proposals he has to ensure a more thorough standard of hygiene and food preparation in National Health Service hospitals, especially in geriatric hospitals.

Mr. John Patten

We have no reason to believe that the general standards of hygiene and food preparation in National Health Service hospitals are unsatisfactory. We shall consider whether further actions is required when the repot of the inquiry into the outbreak of food poisoning at the Stanley Royd hospital, Wakefield is received.
