HC Deb 27 November 1984 vol 68 c459W
22. Mr. Yeo

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the cost of abolishing employers' national insurance contributions for all employees earning less than £100 per week.

Mr. Whitney

The Government Actuary calculates that should the national insurance fund lose the income from secondary contributions in respect of all employees earning less than £100 per week, the cost would be around £930 million in 1984–85 terms.
