HC Deb 27 November 1984 vol 68 c431W
68. Rev. Martin Smyth

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he has any plans for increasing provision for the availability and use of computers in special schools; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Pattie

I am at present reviewing all expenditure on support programmes of this kind and will make a statement when it is completed. However, the hon. Member may like to know that my Department financed the production of a pack of 25 computer programmes for use by teachers of children with moderate learning difficulties. This pack, known as "Microspecial", is being made available at no cost to a number of special schools throughout the United Kingdom and will also be available for purchase.
