§ Mr. StanleyIn the last 3 months, the Commander-in-Chief Fleet has accompanied my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State to a meeting of the nuclear planning group and has participated in a MINIS meeting with him. Commander-in-Chief Fleet has also met my noble Friend the Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces at a dinner. Official discussions between Service commanders and Ministers are held on an in confidence basis.
